This was my prayer at the Global Day of Prayer for Ukraine and Russia, on March 5, 2022. I have included the part of my friends Arben and Irma Xhako who prayed from Albania.
The event was called “Join the Peace Train” hosted by Hany Soryal, “The International Alliance for Peace and Security”. To watch the full event:

I pray for Peace in the conflict of Ukraine and Russia on the basis of the Lord’s Prayer, in Matt. 6:9.
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
As these nations have a Christian heritage, we call upon the Father in Heaven, to manifest as a Father to them both, to draw them to Yourself as your children, as brother nations; call them to make peace with one another, lead them to the path of reconciliation and restoration of relations as nations in brotherhood.
Jesus said Your kingdom come.
Lord, may Your Kingdom of Heaven invade the political realm, and may political leaders of both nations lead and serve their people according to the values of God’s Kingdom; as we pray for the leaders, may these nations lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence (as written in 1 Tim 2:1-2)
Jesus said Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Lord we pray that, over this situation! May Your will prevail over every other agenda, selfish purpose, or fear-driven politics.
Jesus said Give us this day our daily bread.
We pray for this, at this time of war which affects the supply of food and other essentials to many. We also remember that there are potential global repercussions related to the supply of grain from Russia and other important resources.
Jesus said forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Lord, we call upon the Blood of Redemption that Jesus shed on the cross, for the forgiveness of the sins that have defiled the lands of Ukraine and Russia, as well as Europe, and have empowered the spiritual forces of Darkness to start this war in order to spread more Darkness, to shed innocent blood and to cause destruction and chaos to the world.
Jesus said do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
As these two nations have already yielded to the temptation of war, Lord we confess on behalf of them both that we need deliverance from the evil one that has caused the political leaders to resort to this bloodthirsty conflict.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
And may that prevail and become the reality in these nations, to which we speak the Aaronic blessing:
Num. 6:24 Ο Κύριος να σε ευλογήσει και να σε φυλάξει! 25 Ο Κύριος να επιλάμψει το πρόσωπό του επάνω σου, και να σε ελεήσει! 26 Ο Κύριος να υψώσει το πρόσωπό του επάνω σου, και να σου δώσει ειρήνη!
Amen.
