8:18 on Friday 26 May 2023 – day of Shavuot. By George E Markakis.

As I decided to look it up in the Bible, I started from Genesis, and soon discovered a message that leaped out through the first 6 books of the Bible. The message made sense to me in the light of all that the Lord has been speaking to me in the recent season, for this kairos-time that we live in, and in relation to the new era/season that we have entered this year 2023.

Even more so, this Shavuot is a time of BREAKTHROUGH for a transition to a new state of affairs that has to do with the message I received in February about this year (and from this year) which is INHERIT & INHABIT. Everything the Lord has been speaking to me in the recent weeks has culminated to the message that is formed through these verses 8:18:

Genesis 8:18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.

My thoughts: This is the time to come out of the place where the Lord kept us safe while His judgments were upon the earth, and to possess (inherit) the land and dwell in it (inhabit). The times of judgment of the recent years, I believe to be the economic crisis of 2011, -12, -13 and the COVID crisis of 2020, -21, -22. Those were two 3-year cycles of shakings that brought God’s judgment “against the gods of this world”.

Exodus 8:18 Now the magicians so worked with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the LORD had said.

My thoughts: The enemy is resisting through witchcraft against the work of God in this season, but in the end the forces of Darkness cannot do anything to stop the work of God; that is of particular significance at this time because in previous years the forces of Darkness were authorized to strike and stop or hinder and divert the work of God among His people. It is different this time; even the forces of Darkness yield to God’s power and admit His glory.

Leviticus 8:18 Then he brought the ram as the burnt offering. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram, 19 and Moses killed it. Then he sprinkled the blood all around on the altar.

My thoughts: The sacrifice of the High Priest (Jesus) has taken away the power of Sin. The main message of these words is that this is a season that the emphasis is on the power of the Blood for sanctification. What I believe to be significant, especially in this sequence of verses 8:18, is the message that this is a season that the emphasis will be on the Priesthood of the believers and the call to apply the power of the blood in intercession.

Numbers 8:18 I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn of the children of Israel. 19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.”

My thoughts: Priesthood for the sake of removal of the power of Darkness and Death, manifesting through the plague. The significance of this verse following the message of Leviticus is that the Lord has called the Body of Christ to be His Royal Priests for the sake of performing His goodwill, which is “to make atonement for the children of Israel”.

Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 19 Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.

My thoughts: No comments needed. Perhaps the only comment is about the sequence from Genesis to Deuteronomy – reading through all the scriptures in sequence, one sees that the promise about wealth requires that all the previous statements are first in place)

Joshua 8:18 Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city. 19 So those in ambush arose quickly out of their place; they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand, and they entered the city and took it, and hurried to set the city on fire.

My thoughts: I am amazed as I am discovering this revelation through 8:18… These words in Joshua show that it is now a time of victory over a place where God’s people were defeated the first time because of sin. Now is the time to continue the conquest of the Promise Land).
