The issues of the heart are issues of life or death

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 “This is [the] first and great commandment. 39 “And [the] second [is] like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

In Love lies the fulfillment of the Law of God. At the same time, as Jesus said, the greatest commandment of the Law concerns our own complete love for God, and at the same time for those close to us, which is the revelation of how and how much we love God.

But there are obstacles that stop the Love of God from becoming a part of who we are, so that we can be the manifestation and fulfillment of His own Love. These obstacles are in our hearts, and they can defile us and cause us to fail in our love for our neighbors. Then we fail in all the Law of God.

Healing, deep cleansing, transformation and sanctification of the human heart proves to be one of the most difficult things in the life of faith.

Matthew 15:18 “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 “These are [the things] which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”.

Matthew 5:21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
